I'm sad to share with you, my friends, that we lost one of the beautiful dogs that we dog-sit yesterday...a lovely Golden Retriever. RIP, Sweet Lucy...you were loved. We'll see you on the Rainbow Bridge someday...

Sorry to hear that.  I'm waaay too attached to my Basset Hound that is unfortunately getting older.  Seeing all the street animals in India broke my wife and I.

With the newborn at my house, i feel my doggie is getting a bit neglected.  But i try to console her by explaining that i've also been moved down the totem pole.

Typical family rearrangements! It'll all work out, with your son being at the top of the pole!
But, go hug that doggie!

That's the main thing to always remember in your grief.  And I hope she met with a peaceful end.

As the quote goes: "No heaven will not ever heaven be; unless my cats are there to welcome me."

I am very sad. Two of my favorite dogs (I'm a dog-sitter) are moving to another state at the end of the month. I've been their 2nd "mom" for over 6 years now. I know it's silly, but such a sense of loss...I've spent a LOT of time with these two, and we have bonded in a major way. I'm trying to be positive...it's a great move for their people, and for the dogs...but selfishly, I am so darn sad.
what you leave behind you don't miss anyway

Not silly to me. Believe me, they will miss you too.
