I'm leaving Bono

Just for a little while. I just heard, for the very first time, Roy sing SAMTM, and my God.

Sorry, I figured I was literally the last to know this one.

Bono's song for Roy Orbison getting a big new life thanks to Aquaman. And my god his voice is like... help me...

A voice straight from heaven, if there is such a place.

Do yourself a favor and download the whole album, Mistery Girl. Itís a thing of beauty. Especially on the road.

By the way, I need to get this one on vinyl.

I think U2 gave this song to Roy because Bono coundnt nail the chorus .... there's a video of him trying it at Sun Studios and it was not pretty. The version in Brooklyn in 2004 is passable.

Look, I love Bono, but only Roy for this.

Also, I have a feeling I'm not Bono's only girl anyway.

Love this! And my other man Chris Cornell left us so my music boyfriends are getting to be a small group

I only ever had one. And still really the one. I'm just going on a date here.

Roy has an ethereal voice but he doesn't have the je ne sais quoi.

So I've been poking around Roy's catalog some. Obviously I know the hits.

I never really appreciated the quality of his voice before now.

But what I'm finding is - I don't really care for his music all that much. And I'm struck by the fact that it was Bono's songwriting that made Roy come alive for me.

I really love THIS song, written by Bono, sung by Roy.

Also, I recognize the guitar at the beginning as U2-ish, now I can understand that it's Bono guitar sound (which is probably obvious but I had not really isolated and labelled that sound before). EDIT: I know it's not remotely unique, just arpeggios, yet it does nevertheless seem familiar to me.)

Well how cool is this.  One of my rock gods wrote a song about my other rock god, because he left us too early.  The song is called SIAMYCGOO.
I always preferred Bono but little did I know that they would go on to share a friendship as well as a space on my bedroom wall in 1988/89.

One love, One blood, One life;
You got to do what you should.
One life; With each other
Sisters, Brothers
One life; But we're not the same
We get to carry each other, Carry each other

I knew they were buds but I did not know Stuck was for Michael until I returned from my U2 hiatus a year or so ago.

I lost a friend to suicide a year or so before ATYCLB. Stuck resonates with me, and for more than my friend.

I like the way they snuck some horns into the mix near the end of the song, albeit a little bit low in the mix for my taste.

Horns, like bacon, make many things better.
