I hadn't seen some of those alternative covers before...

It would be cool if U2 released some sort of book compiling unseen concept art for tours, album covers, etc. Would make for a nice coffee-table book.

There already is a book: Stealing Hearts from a Travelling Show : The Graphic Design of "U2"
All those images come from the book.
(I purchased a signed copy (Steve Averill and Shaughn McGrath) at the time of release.)

So let me see if I understand this: the albums on iTunes are technically remastered and are the versions we would have gotten on CD if the reissue program had continued?

My guess is that is the CD version of the Pop remastered released by Apple in digital format. CD’s are still huge in Japan.

I saw a similar listing on Walmart's website last week. I'm guessing it's an import but haven't found anything conclusive.
