It's only salvation was it's live performance and that after 9/11 it seemed like a time capsule of the city before that event happened.
I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)

I didn't really care for this one initially. Over time it's grown on me and the live version was fantastic.

It's chorus has aged very poorly, but otherwise New York seems remarkably innovative in comparison to its contemporaries. Awful lyrically.

Beautiful tune with a cinematic quality. One of my favorite U2 songs.

As far as U2 songs named after cities go, singing "New York, New York" for a "chorus" tops "Miami, My Mammy."

1- hate it.  don't understand the band's fascination with this city, but if they like it so much, they should've come up with a better song than this to honor it.
