Of course we can't discuss what sets U2 apart without The Edge.

Really, I totally buy that they are a 4 legged table. They are a package, period.
This!

Of course, yes. I didn't mean my remarks about Bono's voice in that way.

What I was thinking about was other bands (who shall remain nameless) who are supposed to sound like/be better than/be the heirs of/influenced by U2. And they manage to have the chiming guitar, or the strong melodies, or whatever. But none of them have anything approaching the sound of Bono's voice. Doesn't make them bad, I quite like a lot of it ... but it does make U2 even more unique. The combination of those four is lightning in a bottle.

"Chris Martin."

I actually have not heard Coldplay (the question of whether that's even possible has already been discussed). But I did hear Chris Martin cover a tune on some TV thing, and I heard n.o.t.h.i.n.g special. Sorry, Chris, you're lrobably a great guy, but your pipes ain't Bono.

Aw. He's not that bad, he's just ... ordinary. That's how most of them sound, to me.

Was just jokingly referencing the Alan Partridge show, where that line came from.

Honestly, the comedy kind of eludes me but maybe you just had to be there.

Last time I visited my mom, Friends was on the TV. It was the absolute most garbage show. I didn't really watch it in the 90s but thought it was okay. The two episodes I was forced to watch last year were criminally bad, though. Maybe we were all stupid about our television in the 90s.

Afraid the comedy eluded me too. Although the laugh was on me, watched the whole thing before I realized why you posted it.

I think I stopped watching TV comedy about the time Home Improvement went off the air. Comedy wasn't funny anymore, just mean. Or filthy.
