I rate the album version 'only' an 8, but would give some of the live versions 10.

7 nice strong song. Prerry good composed: drums, guitar, bass. But slightly boring after a few minutes. You have to pay very much attention to see the beauty of it

7/10

Alright. It's not quite as edgy as it believes it is.

The album version sounds a bit neutered to me - when it soars live it is a good song

This is a 10 for me.  We have to remember they'd only just written the song when they recorded it for the album, and they were still young and not as accomplished as they would become later in their recording career, hence the live version is more powerful.  In the 80s their material always seemed more powerful in a live setting.

The definitive version was the Zoo TV one. Elevation was great too. Popmart third.

Album version 9/10. Live can be anywhere from 10/10 to 5/10. It depends on how much Bono wants to rabbit on ...

Is there a better guitar solo than that ripped out by The Edge during the Zoo TV era?  The closest I've ever seen him to genuine shredding.

9 - Live it is insane. Album version very good.
I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)

7. Again, the studio version is just a little lacking compared to what it is live.
