Yelling "Timber!" as they cut down the damn Joshua Tree.
I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)

7.

The sparkling guitar that kicks in doesn't fit on the album version for me. Bono's howling doesn't work as much neither. I like it pretty much live, though

10/10

Very nearly the band's greatest song. It's absolutely fascinating to listen to... with a killer groove underneath its layering. Bono's harmonizing melodies during the intro and choruses are so fucking nice. Edge does a tremendous job of emulating a train. Impeccable.

The live version is a 10

The studio is a 6

Edge’s guitars are laughably low and thin. Horrible production.

I've always considered that "thinness" to be intentional, much like the tinniness of Larry's snare, or Bono's crunchy vocal.

Top half of album openers....surely top 5: Streets, ASOH, Gloria, then Zoo, SBS.

It’s a great song on an album packed with great songs.

7. It's great, and I love what it represents for U2, but there are far better songs on AB.
