One of my favorite collective U2 songs.  All 4 members shine.  Bono's voice is at its peak.  Every instrument including his vocal chords are just weaponized in a fast-fired track.   The timing of when Edge and Larry first jump into the song at 50 seconds is one of my favorite song moments ever.

In retrospect "Don't believe that rock and roll can really change the world" seems like the most hypocritical line for what Bonoengages in now.  I forgive it because the song kicks ass.  Unique in the catalog.  It was even better live.  I know Bono's voice can't hit that last verse, but would love to see a comeback in a lower key.

I really like the song. I try to reserve my 9s and 10s for the true upper echelons of the canon or stuff that I personally LOVE. This song is high up in the like tier, just missing LOVE...
I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)

A good hint at where they'd go with Achtung Baby.

It's the only song off of Rattle & Hum that I enjoy.

Based on the album cut, 7, though I would rate some of the live versions 8.
