I've said it before, but I think this song is Bono's greatest tribute ever to Ali. Ever. "When I was broke, it was you who always paid the rent." I believe he's saying that Ali was always there for him...no matter what. And that "no matter what" probably covers an awful lot of heavy ground.
I love Edge's subtle guitar work on this song (even though I really miss his big guitar sound in most of the songs on SOE). The subtlety works well on this song.
Believe it or not, I'm giving this song a 10.

One of the best romantic u2 songs.  Well-crafted, lovely, mature . . . doesn't get too many repeat plays from simply because it is not in my favorite genre of U2 songs.  But excellent nonetheless.  An effortless track. Nothing contrived

A nice song. But a bit boring musically seen. Could have been better. Voted a 6, maybe a bit too low because of the idea of the song

It's beautiful. Just don't like the title. It almost is great.
I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)

This has been one of the biggest growers on the album for me. Lyrically it's sweet and I love the understated arrangement. It makes me think of my wife so maybe I'm just sentimental. ;)

Cloying, bordering on cringey and sonically dull.

I love the last 1 minute 20 or so, where it goes a bit Bon Iver. Up til then it grates badly on me though. Not quite GOOYOW bad but it's not great at all!

A solid 7.  I like it more than some 'classic' U2 songs such as Pride, SBS and Streets.

A better ballad than TLTTGYA IMO.

Ali was there for the Futon.  I'm not going to say the rest of the Bill Burr joke.
