I've seen so many comments about this song...positive and negative. I think it's a great song, especially for a person of faith. Again, great guitar work. I had a lot of trouble deciding on this one, but I'm giving it an 8.

10.

Yesterday night I couldn't sleep, while I was tired and half hallucinating. After listening a few favorite songs from SOE, I started my favorites from Pop. Really recommend those late nights music sessions! You can pay attention very, very closely!

When Gone came, I restarted it a few times. I just lost sometimes my attention while I don't want to. I realised I had never payed much attention to the details of the song, while I really liked that song and play it frequently.

That song has so much musical layers, and shows a lot sides of the band: it just has everything on Pop, so it's the Pop song.

I have to admit, though, I have really no idea what the song is about. Help me out!

The lyrics are fairly cryptic and vague, but are about what if feels to him being a rockstar, trapped between the thrill of the spotlight and the guilt of receiving so much just because of his music. He’s striving to maintain his integrity and stay grounded, but he often feels trapped inside this persona he’s created: this larger-than-life character idolized by millions of people.
He’s full of contradictions, he feels confused and conflicted, but in the end he enjoys his status very much (“I’ve been up with the sun, I’m not coming down”)

9. My favourite from Pop (after Please). Love the swooping guitar on the chorus and great middle eight.

Pop was from the days before U2 entered the Father's Day market in a big way.

A masterpiece. It's criminal that this hasn't been played live in over 15 years.

Some days I think it's an 8, some days I think it's a 6.

It does rock and like the rest of Pop it kicks ass on a good sound system.
I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)
