Edge really drives the song.  His guitar invites you to join the dark side.  Effective use of the word BASTARDS

I like the idea of these ratings.  The problems are: it's going to take forever to go through their whole catalogue and there's not many people rating.

I know I'll get a lot of hate for this but it's probably my least favorite on AB. Don't misunderstand me, it's a great piece of work! I just don't understand the rabid love that fans have for it.

7. Good track, no doubt. But far from the masterpiece some pretend it to be.   ;)

Once we get to 20-25 I’m fully satisfied. After a couple days they are in the mid-30s. We are gonna get a good spread.  Trying to do 3 a day.  Drawn randomly.

I think Wook is down for compiling some prelim rankings once we get a few more.  Do an official “song Ranking project “ thread

If I’m off the grid for a bit.  Any volunteers to be posting songs as project managers?

Same posting format with ALL CAPS.  makes them
Easy to track down for reference.

I gave it a 9.  An excellent song; too bad it has never been played live.

We have a 10 folks.

Lyrics that can be taken multiple ways - check
Edge sounding cool - check
Rest of band sounding locked in - check
Perfect amount over vocal emoting by Bono - check
Bono singing in a register he is comfortable with - check
Strong production - check
My favorite album where even the filler songs kick ass to the point that they aren't filler songs - check

I saw Gloria live. Even if I never see the band live again, at least I saw Gloria live. :)

I'm definitely down for compiling a preliminary.

10/10

What a beast. Bono delves into his introspective side, which always results in wonderful writing. Edge absolutely goes off, relaying what is possibly his most aggressive guitar performance. Larry's rising cymbal-playing really sets a badass tone for the song, and his later playing is downright intimidating. Adam holds his own, congealing a legendary batch of performances.

Acrobat easily falls into my top five favorite songs of all-time.
