U2 fell down compared to BOY and hadn't yet thrown a brick through a window as they would in WAR but some slow burners on here hit the spot. Tomorrow? October? Stranger in a strange land? Which is your favorite?

Love it. Could have been better, but the pressure after the success of Boy, and Bono losing his lyrics made it impossible for it to be a huge album. It has actually aged very well I think, better than War.
What are we going to do now it's all been said.

October, I Fall Down, Tomorrow ánd Scarlet are my favorites.

Love the rest of the album, too. Stranger was interesting in the beginning for me, now it's a bit 'hmmm' for me.

Gloria is a top 10 song for me.  I also really like Brick, Fire, Rejoice, With a Shout. This album has some great songs IMO.

But I find it too bad Saturday Night became Fire. I don't know what it is. The guitar seems different, but I can't point it. The Edge is on fire on Saturday Night.

Love October, must give it a proper listen again, been a while. So raw and passionate. Rejoice is a cracker.

Gloria is in my top 5 all time.

Rejoice is a prototype for the anthems to follow

For me October is the album on which U2 realized that slow doesn’t mean taking a breather between anthems. October, Tomorrow, Stranger etc - while the subject matter was sometimes alienating, the tone they set etc love it.

October is one of my favorite U2 albums. There's something about the raw and unfinished nature of this album that I find really endearing, along with its overtly spiritual lyrics. As a born-again Christian I find great solace in it.

Ocotber is a very special album to me. Tis the ONLY u2 album that has its very own day each year, which it gets a couple of spins.
Reason it is sp special to me is because......in my early teens, my mate had October on Cassette. It evokes very happy memories, of being in his room....on stormy wet autumnal/wintery days, with central heating on (my family were too poor to afford central heating) all cosy, listening to the album. Back then, it was about 1983-85, no computers, no social media etc etc, But we were NEVER bored! VERY happy memories  ;D

The highlight of Innocence and Experience was hearing both Gloria and October for the first time. Both would be on any mix tape I put together to showcase U2's greatest work. October has a haunting beauty about it
