He was my very first celebrity crush at a young age because of that dimple on his chin.  I remember watching his old movies with my parents.  RIP

Fun fact - Kirk Douglas was key in ending the McCarthy era witch-hunt in Hollywood against communists.

The House of Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC)  The government apparently always thought that communist ideas were being pushed to the masses in film.

It was also during this era that it was illegal for films to show the bad guys getting away with crimes.  That's why the good guys always won.
