SOE Tracklist
« on: October 15, 2017, 05:08:25 PM »
I'm almost certain these are the new songs. Taken from the PRS database in the U.K.

American Soul
Book of Your Heart
Get out of your own way
Lights in front of me
Lights of home
Little Things
Love Is All We Have Left
Love is bigger than anything in it's way
Red Flag Day
Summer of Love
The Blackout
The Landlady
The Showman
There is a light
You're the best thing

Looking at the codes and amendments on the site I wouldn't be surprised if The Blackout doesn't make the cut and two of those tracks are bonus tracks for deluxe versions maybe?

I think it's the songs we already have are the tracklist, and these new ones might be on the deluxe edition. Or maybe they changed some song names.

Well the band already confirmed these songs so it's a no brainer. But the List is missing "much more better" which has been mentioned in the past few months. I think instrument flying was mentioned earlier this year but it could be any of these songs. For sure there will be bonus tracks.

Has there been a U2 album with this much pre-release info given out - we already have 3-4 song samples to full tracks, other song titles, etc.

I can't think of one. I may be misremembering. Achtung had a bit of pre-release stuff but nothing to this extent.

Is this strategy by U2...they figure keeping the new album in the news is good.
Hold on, people! The man's talking about waste management. That affects the whole damn planet.

Maybe because people were upset by the fact that SOI just kind of happened.

I loved SOI release. I was at the airport waiting for a flight, and all of the sudden I got notified of a new album, downloaded and it listened to it the whole way home. I loved the surprise of it.

I feel like when they let it out at a trickle pace there's a lot more intense scrutiny and analysis of it.  Though SOI generated a lot of backlash so...whatevs.

Yeah, that's exactly what we thought too, but a lot of people were upset.

There's no song registered to U2 called Much More Better ... there won't be a song on the album with that title.

Maybe it's changed to More Much Better

It would be registered now along with the other songs. The album will be going to print now. It would also have been assigned distribution codes alongside the other songs.

Manufacturers are not allowed to start pressing without all this information and rigorous checks are made. All the titles will be correct because this information is used on the coding for CD versions so the titles show up on your CD players for example.

I know all this because I have actually written/recorded/produced and released 2 albums on vinyl.

The albums won't just magically appear in the record stores on 1st December.

The whole process on a short production like mine takes 10 weeks to be delivered. That's without getting it into the stores.

Also with larger releases like U2 the process will possibly take longer because there isn't enough record pressing plants to take on too many high profile releases at once. At the moment there has been huge releases by QOTSA, Beck, Bjork, Liam Gallagher, Noel Gallagher, Taylor Swift. As well as all the countless reissues and Black Friday releases. Pressing plants are full.

To be fair they've had a great 5 years but the industry desperately need more. Like around the time of RSD you are going to the back of the queue if you want to release your album anywhere near those dates. You have to allow up to 6 months if you want your album ready in time and a lot of the releases are rush. When U2 reissued SOI for RSD there were many errors. Some sleeves were packed with other bands lp ... I think it was Tool.

Nobody (apart from Jack White) had built another pressing plant to meet the demand because the industry is waiting to see if it's a passing trend or not. Building a plant is very expensive and also there's not enough skilled people to build and run them.
